ABC Fairytale
Cinderella
At the strike of midnight Cinderella ran down the stairs from the prince’s ball, only to have her glass slipper slip off in her haste. Bounding through the dancing couples, to her carriage, she saw a beautiful young girl with waves of long blonde hair. Captivated by the lonely look on Rapunzels face, Cinderella went to see her. Dong! The last strike of twelve went and before Rapunzels very eyes, a pretty lady became a poor lady dressed in rags. Escaping the look of alarm on Rapunzels face, Cindy darted into the woods. Fire smoke was strong in the air, giving her a spark of hope that maybe the lighter of the fire would take her in for the rest of the night. Gingerly making her way through the undergrowth, she finally saw the light of the fire. Hopping around the fire singing a riddle, was a peculiar little man. Intrigued by this behaviour, Cindy went forward so she could hear the words of his riddle. Judging by the riddle, the mans name was Rumpilstiltskin. Keen to know more about this bizarre man, Cindy introduced herself. Learning quickly that this Rumpilstiltskin was a rude man with a short temper, she escaped, but not before finding his secret of spinning gold for a certain queen. Muttering to herself about the frustrating events of her night so far, she bumped into a girl dressed in a red hooded cape. Noticing the delicacies in the girl’s basket Cindy befriended her as she was famished. Opening the basket, Cindy thanked Little Red Riding hood and inquired as to where she was going. Pleased to have a full stomach she walked with Little Red to Grandma’s house. Questions arose as to why Cindy was only wearing one shoe in the morning at Granny’s. Retelling the events of the day, Cindy saw granny’s eyes open wide. “Surely you’re not the Cinderella from the newspaper?” Granny asked Cindy. To Cindy’s great surprise she was the fairytales newspaper front-page star. Understanding the exciting implications of the prince finding out that her foot fits the glass slipper, Cindy was unsure of what to do. Vexed by this sudden dilemma, Cindy hardly heard Granny reading another article of the paper. With out warning she ran out of the house and rode to the castle on the Big Bad Wolf. Xylophones were playing in the Queens chamber as Cindy ran in and said “Rumpilstiltskin is the name you want!” “Yes!” cried the queen, “you must be Cinderella with the matching slipper!” Zealously Cinderella married the prince and everyone else lived happily ever after, with the exception of the peculiar little man who was rude and had a short temper.
